The Vision of Stigler Methodist Women

Turning faith, hope and love into action on behalf of women, children and youth around the world.

Living the Vision

We provide opportunities and resources to grow spiritually, become more deeply rooted in Christ and put faith into action.

We are organized for growth, with flexible structures leading to effective witness and action.

We equip women and girls around the world to be leaders in communities, agencies, workplaces, governments and churches.

We work for justice through compassionate service and advocacy to change unfair policies and systems.

We provide educational experiences that lead to personal change in order to transform the world.

FELLOWSHIP

Throughout the year each Monday morning at 9:00 am, many women meet for fellowship, coffee, prayer and volunteer to process donations given to the church store.

During winter months SMW gathers regularly each first Wednesday at noon for a pot-luck luncheon followed by the business meeting where decisions are made to support various community and church needs.

Donations can be left in the bins located outside the store entrance. All donations are used for the missions of the SMW. We are grateful for all generosity. We are happy to provide a tax donation receipt during normal office business hours.

CHURCH STORE

This isn’t just any thrift store, it is a labor of love the SMW poor their hearts and souls into. It began in May 1971 and has successfully provide goods to those in need and financial support for other mission work SMW has devoted these resources for. The donations are always plenty and treasures are abundant for anyone seeking unique and special. The store is open on Wednesdays from 9:00 am - noon weekly. The store is also a resource for local organizations such as the Women’s Shelter, DHS and more to provide much needed clothing and household goods when needed for their clients.
